Sculptek Micro-Submarine Image 2 (Enlarged)
These photographs capture images of "the world's smallest submarine" and have been seen around the globe in Brazil and Japan, and were featured in an article appearing in "Capital", a German finance
journal in 1998. The image was made by Oliver Meckes, of the company "eye of science". A German-language description is here.
These are actual, unretouched images of a microscale submarine that was manufactured using a German-patented technique called Rapid Micro Product Development (RMPD). This technique was developed by Reiner Gotzen, President of microTEC, and is capable of manufacturing micron-sized parts remotely via the internet.
The micro-submarine was positioned in an actual human artery for demonstration purposes.
