December 1997

• National Science Foundation announces nanotechnology research initiative
• Foresight announces $45,000 Challenge Grant
• Additional complete papers are available from the 1997 Fifth Foresight Conference on Molecular Nanotechnology.
• Database volunteer needed to help with CritSuite project

November 1997

• 1997 Feynman Prize winners announced
• The Sixth Foresight Conference on Molecular Nanotechnology has been scheduled for November 13-15, 1998, to be preceeded by a tutorial on November 12.
• The Fifth Foresight Conference on Molecular Nanotechnology is over. The Conference home page will remain the archival site for the Conference. Abstracts of talks and poster presentations are available, as are complete papers submitted to the Conference.
• Web Enhancement Progress. "The Other Half of Hypertext" web software demoed and released for free use. To try these tools visit the CritSuite Web site.
• Foresight proudly announces a re-design of our Web site. The new design provides a cleaner, more attractive appearance and a more complete navigation structure. The re-design has been done by E-SPACES. Please send any comments to webmaster@foresight.org and andre@e-spaces.com. Enhancements include more complete navigation aids at the top and bottom of each page, and a site map.

October 1997

• To facilitate finding information on nanotechnology, links to introductions and other information have been collected on one page.
• Statistics on traffic to Foresight's Web site are now available.
• The full papers to be presented at the November 1997 Fifth Foresight Conference on Molecular Nanotechnology are now becoming available. The index to full papers provides links to the full papers that are now available. In addition, each abstract will provide a link to the corresponding full paper as soon as it is available on the Web.
• Prelimary schedule of speakers for the November 1997 Fifth Foresight Conference on Molecular Nanotechnology is now available.

• A search engine has been added to facilitate searching this Web site for key words.
• High Performance Networking and Computing conference announced.
• Matching Grant reaches goal! Grant to help Foresight develop an interactive 3D graphics tour of the molecular-scale world has reached its goal.
• Canadian Nanotechnology Center announced.
• 2nd IBC Conference on Molecular Nanotechnology announced.
• Foresight Update 30 the current issue, is now available.
• Abstracts are available for almost all of the talks and posters to be presented at the November 1997 Fifth Foresight Conference on Molecular Nanotechnology.
