• reminder: the deadline for submisisons for the 2000 Feynman Prize in Nanotechnology is July 31, 2000.
• The deadline for submission of abstracts to the Eighth Foresight Conference on Molecular Nanotechnology has been extended to July 7.
• New section "Essays on Technology and Society" opens with "To Economize On Love" about the role of altruism in society and how that role is affected by emerging technologies.
• Foresight publishes Guidelines for Development of Nanotechnology.
• The Nanomedicine page has been updated, including a new compilation of articles on medical nanomaterials, bionanotechnology, or "nanomedicine".

• A draft proposal for the regulation of nanotechnology: "Foresight Guidelines on Molecular Nanotechnology"

• Thanks to work done by Graham Reed, the complete text of Engines of Creation can be downloaded in PDB format (660 Kb), a standard document file for Palm Pilot.
• Thanks to work done by Marc Macé, Engines of Creation has been translated into French and is available as plain text (780 Kb), or it can be downloaded in rich text format (1.1 Mb).
• Web site updated for Eighth Foresight Conference on Molecular Nanotechnology
