&lt;p&gt;Aside from the obvious applications to flat panel displays and fiber-optic endoscopes, aside from the likelyhood that a company that harnesses this biotech will have VC yapping at their door, is this really newsworthy for Nanodot?&lt;br /&gt;

Considering that many entries here over the last 12 months or so have been arguing about the disruputability of mechnosynthesis in the eyes of all the mainstream nano advocates, why are we still focusing on this nanobulk stuff?&lt;/p&gt;
