Nanotechnology, done properly and with the respect and caution it deserves, has the potentially to drastically improve our lives.

From cancer cures and other medical miracles, to better clothing, more efficient and capable electronics, to safer and more efficient cars, nanotech has more potential than almost any other field.

I just hope the government funding into open research (ie. not funding where the research gets turned over to a company who patents it, which happens constantly right now) starts to flow freely.
