Logo for whom?

> should the existing logo by reinvigorated by at least adding
> some color? Should the texty-ness also be lowered?

It depends on what sort of people you want to like it. The changes you suggest will certainly be more appealing to people with short attention spans who can't read. Considering that they constitute the majority of the world's population, it may seem like a good thing, but when you recall that they are not the ones who can pay for research or ever be capable of doing any themselves, you may reconsider.

> Are there any more radical suggestions for a new
> logo, perhaps incorporating a bio-medical motif?

Nanotechnology is not just about medicine, so unless Foresight wishes to devote itself to exclusively promoting medical applications of nanotechnology, such a change would be misleading.

> Or should we just leave well enough alone? What do you think?

I think you should. Or at least keep it a logo for engineers and scientists who will actually make nanotechnology happen.
