“Ultimately, we’re probably better off putting our energies into promoting cleaner, more advanced technologies like these…A focus on cutting energy consumption with today’s technology isn’t going to make much of a difference. Let’s work on replacing current tech with something better, instead.”

I think his point here is that there are plenty of other people working on cutting consumption, and that doing only that will not fix the problem. Those of us able to develop new technologies should focus on that instead, because that is where the big payoffs will be. Probably Glenn, you, and I would agree on that. —Christine
