science fiction becomes the wonder of the ages when ideas such as advances in medicine start to actually save your own life. When new technology makes you live longer it begins to seem like magic. If we through technology became able to keep ourselves alive indefinately then immortality becomes within our grasp and we might even seem as gods to ourselves. The way the world is progressing we shall have a huge old persons percentage, and births will never decrease. We will need even more ideas to cope with the futre. A futre of hungry people all after my own endevours due to their own lack of resources or intelligence is not what I forsaw as the futre of my own country men. Still lack of resources and plain hunger may drive us to new horrors to our fellow man. If we spent one years defense expenditure on food production for the starving we could maybe stop the futre problems before they happen.
