Nanotechnology Education

avondale writes "I'm looking for undergrad programs specifically geared towards a 'well rounded' education in nanotechnology. I've only found one so far, at the Flinder's University in Adelaide, Australia… Which will cost me at least 60k in tuition and is on the other side of the planet. I'm willing to go that far to pursue my potential, but am looking for alternatives. My proposed field of study would be nanotechnology for health and wellness. If anyone knows of an applicable undergraduate program, please let me know. Thank you"

    Education List

I've found that Australia seems to be about the only place that wants to offer an undergraduate degree. Nanoguys.com offers has a list of Universities from around the world, but for undergraduates, Australia seems to be about it!

I've also suggested to some people to consider taking a pre-med curriculum, which is very science-heavy, the way a Nanotech curriculum should be, and has the added advantage that it will qualify you for medical school, should you end up choosing that route. For your major, consider any kind of materials science undergraduate major, or Chemistry, or possibly one of the biologies if you have an interest in bio-nanotech.

Hi there. I'm an undergraduate in the UK, and as of 2004, the University of Leeds (West Yorkshire, UK) will be running a BSc/MSc in Nanotechnology. It seems that this has spurred interest amongst other academic institutions in the UK, and it looks like several universities will be offering nanotech options in the near future. I can supply extra information if you need it. My email is pcyvcjc1@hotmail.com

hi.. I am an undergrad in University of Toronto in Canada. I am in a program named Engineering Science – http://www.ecf.toronto.edu/apsc/engsci/ So you basically study about everything related to engineering and science in the first 2 year. Then you can choose an option to specialize for the last 2 years. And nanoengineering is the one of the option! So if you are intersted, check out the website.. ;)

    Hi
I am planning to go for the nanotechnology engineering at university of Toronto but I need to know more about nanotechnology.. What are the job opportunities for this field of study? Is there any industry hiring the graduated student in these fields?
    I’ll appreciate your help.
    Sincerely
