Calif NanoSystems Institute annual research report now out
Check out CNSI’s 2005 Annual Research Report (PDF format) for summaries of the latest nanotech work out of this cutting-edge effort funded by the state of California. Projects that caught my eye:
Powered Artificial Nano-Machines: Molecular Valves and Impellers
Synthesis, Control, and Assembly of Molecular Machines
Linear Artificial Muscles for Mechanical Nanoactuation
Operational Nanovalves
Powering a Supramolecular Machine with a Nanoscale Power Supply
They also do outreach to schools: see the Nanoscience Community Outreach Program. —Christine

Thanks for sending me materials on nanotech advances. I wish I could contribute someway, anyway other than money, at least for now …
Thanks again
best regards

Dear Sir/Madame,
Could you be so kind to tell me couple of words about US-patents: is it possible (+how) to find via Internet any of US patents full text? Thanks before!
Sincerely yours,
Mrs./Dr. Elena Tkachenko,

I am most interested in new developments in nanotechnology, and appreciate your messages. How could one not be excited by the potential inherent in this field? One aspect of particular concern, however, involves the possible danger of nanoparticles having an asbestos-like affect on humans and/or animals. I applaud you for researching this subject, and request updates on your findings.
